Challenge: Migration and complex growth

Welkoop was growing rapidly, with an expanding online assortment. But that growth brought a challenge: managing product information became complex due to the enormous variety of products, brands, and suppliers.The solution? A strategic transition to a new e-commerce environment in Salesforce, with Novomind PIM as its foundation. This involved not only migrating product information to the PIM system but also reorganizing a maze of attributes.But how do you simplify over 2,500 product attributes? How do you make product data faster and easier to manage?

AI as the solution for maximum speed and quality

Say Hai collaborated with Welkoop to tackle this challenge. With Generative AI, we developed a renewed product data model that not only accelerated migration but also elevated product data to a higher level.How? By leveraging AI intelligently at every step of the process.

1. Renewed Product Data Model
The first step was developing a new product classification, specifically designed for the PIM system. We combined existing financial and commercial categories with a Large Language Model (LLM) to create 124 unique classes in record time. Additionally, GS1 classes were integrated, allowing suppliers to submit their product data effortlessly. What would normally take weeks was now completed in a fraction of the time, thanks to AI.

2. Smarter product attributes
With AI, we improved 1,868 inconsistent product attributes. The attributes were streamlined, simplified, smarter, and more targeted. This significantly enhanced product information management and quality. In the end, only 463 structured attributes remained. This not only improved data quality but also provided better-informed consumers, enhancing the customer experience.

3. Targeted and efficient migration
Next, we created a migration plan with 32 clear rules for transitioning to the new PIM system. This ensured a smooth and efficient migration. At the same time, we cleaned up the product data, immediately improving data quality. The combination of traditional data migration technology and Generative AI allowed us to significantly reduce migration time.
